The Supposemania cards from English Raven are designed to be both conversation starters and stimuli for learners to apply their reasoning skills and imagination. These cards are larger than the regular English Raven flashcards, to help make them visible to more students at once. Looking at each card, students discuss together in groups (1) what is happening in the picture, (2) why it is happening (referencing possible causes that took place prior), and (3) what might happen next. They then present their 'suppositions' to the class.
Great for more advanced or older students, with plenty of opportunities for humorous answers! In addition to general vocabulary brainstorming and accurate application of verb tenses, these cards invite students to try out subjunctive constructions as well. There are twenty cards in the set, depicted to the left.
