This flashcard set focuses on introducing basic weather coinciding with the four seasons - which are hinted at by way of different background colors. Weather in terms of relative "temperature" is also represented, as well as a small range of "neutral" weathers that could be considered likely across all seasons.
Summer: sunny, hot
Autumn/Fall: windy, cool
Winter: snowy, cold
Spring: sunny/fine, warm
(Neutral): rainy, stormy, cloudy, clear
And here is a special online tool to help you present weather and seasons to your learners, starring English Raven Junior!

Suggested Activity - Starters
Pass out random cards to the students and ask each to identify the weather today (according to their cards) as well as the potential season. Based on the weather, each student should be encouraged (based on level) to say where they are, what they are wearing and perhaps what they are doing. This would benefit from some pre-teaching and vocabulary brainstorming on the board.
Suggested Activity - Movers
Similar to the activity for starters, distribute cards randomly and have students identify weather, season, location, clothing and actions, except now in a rolling application of three tenses to cover present, past and future. Hence the first student applies the card to the present (today), the next student applies their card to the past (yesterday), and the student after that applies a card to the future (tomorrow). Cards are reshuffled between rounds and tenses shift along so each student encounters a new time consideration for each new round.
Suggested Activity - Flyers
Divide the class into four even groups and distribute three random weather cards to each group. The group's task, based on the cards dealt to them, is to organise, script, rehearse and perform a three day weather forecast for the rest of the class. This can be as creative as the students like, and could -- in addition to the "weatherman/lady" -- feature props, maps and people acting out scenes on a 'screen' behind the weather announcer. Encourage the students to add information about recommended actions and activities for a TV audience based on the forecasted weather.
